This is a very nice detailed and info packed litle two page article that was taken from an September 2020 American Rifleman Magazine that was not in the best condition so tried to save articles or ads such as this that have lots of factual info or history in them. This article is packed with historical, technical details, an exploded view with parts legend and disassembly/reassembly instructions along with illustrations showing some of more difficult or confusing parts of the breakdown process. This article's gun is the Browning FN High Power P35. This was one of the several firearms John Browning helped to design through his long working relationship with Belgium's FN and Brownings firearm designs were already the stuff of legend. For this pistol FN had a designer named Dieudionne Saive work with Browning. Together they produced a pistol known as the Model 1927 Grande Rendement, however in 1926 Browning at FN in Herstal passed away while waiting on the patent for the pistol.A year later the patent was out but the pistol was found wanting it was considered to heavy and large for its purpose. It fell to Saive to rework the design and produce a gun that satisfied the French military. So over the next few years he reduced the dimensions of the gun and finally in 1935 he had a final version the Model 35 or Grand Puissance (High Power), a design so sound it has remained virtually unchanged to this day and has been widely copied by many.The exploded view of the pistol has a parts legend with 41 of the parts listed.
