This is a Very Good or Excellent Used Condition set of Salt and Pepper Shakers. It is hard to believe how nice these look for there age one of the best looking used sets of Melmac Melamine shakers I have seen. They will need a good gentle hand washing before use or before display to really bring out their colors. They were made by Stetson Corp. in the 1950's here in the USA of Melamine Plastic which would become a very popular material to make home and kitchen tools,gadgets, dinnerware, etc out of. In fact Melmac Melamine became a Mid Century Modern Category of its own and one that most all of the items in the catagory are all highly sought after collectibles with many that are very valuable. These shakers are one of the more collectible melamine pieces that are getting harder to find online or in many areas shops. The Shakers are white in color except for the twist off bottom which is the color called "Cafe Au Lait Brown", this brown piece when removed is where you would fill the shaker. At the top of each is 8 holes for the seasoning to shake through. The shakers sizes are one at 3 3/4" inches tall & one at 3 1/4" inches tall. They both are 2" inches in diameter at the bottom and 1" inch diameter at the top. The taller shaker weighs 1.5 ounces and the other one 1.4 ounces. This is an excellent set for anyones collection, or use in your decor theme and finally if one really wants to they would be excellent for table use.
